June Bolyard, 101, passed away March 18, 2012 at her home.
She graduated from Shortridge High School one year early. June then went to Butler University and graduated in 1933 with a teaching degree. She was also a member of Delta Zeta Sorority.
June married John Bolyard in 1935. They were married for 55 years.
She is survived by one daughter, Julie (Doug) Benefiel; and one grandson, Colin Benefiel.
June worked at L.S. Ayres at Glendale for 10 years starting when the shopping center was first built. She was also a bank teller for Peoples Bank in Lawrence for several years until retiring in 1975.
She belongs to and had been a very active member of St. Alban’s Episcopal Church since 1963.
A memorial service will be held at 3:00 p.m. Saturday, March 24, 2012 at St. Alban’s Episcopal Church, 4601 N Emerson Ave., with a reception to follow.
